The Eco Village

The Eco Village represents society and the community. It will focus on low-energy living and the technologies of zero energy and autonomous buildings. Low-energy technologies will be explained alongside the history of the area including the Duke of Bridgewaters coal-mining industry, the Bridgewater Canal, and the social history within and around the site.

The eco village will provide a living presence on the site through the day to day management of low-key sustainable rural activities such as small scale organic food production, bee keeping, etc, (which will be used as exhibition features), and through the provision of overnight stay facilities.
