The Golf Course
The proposed golf course lies to the north and south of the Bridgewater Canal. It will be an 18 hole, par 72 championship course, with a total length of 5945 metres (6502 yards) off the back tees. A new clubhouse and practice ground is proposed sited on the north side of the Canal to the south-east of the Worsley Garden Centre.
Much of the land to be used for the golf course at Salford Forest Park was granted planning permission in 1997 as part the Worsley Marriott Hotel scheme but was not built at the time.
The northern golf course, now operating as the Marriot Worsley Park Golf Club, is a par 71 championship course.. The Salford Forest Park proposals incorporate the planned southern golf course into the Forest Park scheme.
