On Course for Inspiration

The concept for the Salford Forest Park visitor facility is to develop a coherent tourist/visitor attraction which interprets the natural assets of the site in a way which explains the three cornerstones of sustainability; which can involve groups with an interest in the woodlands and nature conservation potential of the site.

The Salford Forest Park Centre will be a rural visitor attraction of sub-regional significance. It will include:

• Three interpretation buildings providing complementary facilities and presenting different exhibits on the theme of sustainable living. Each building will be designed to involve different interest groups.
  
• A range of outlets for arts, crafts, food, community activities, and cycle hire.
  
• Facilities for educational courses with related overnight stay provided in the eco village.
  
• An imaginative forest play space and tree top walkway.
  
• External exhibition areas and event spaces.
